Caspian crash reported

CASPIAN - Firefighters from the Caspian-Gaastra Fire Department responded to a one-vehicle roll over accident in Caspian on Saturday morning.

The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. on County Road 424 near the Caspian Cut-off Road.

Caspian-Gaastra Fire Chief Tony Tomasoski said that a Caspian woman was driving from Gaastra when her vehicle struck a power pole, went over the guard rail, and came to rest on the embankment of the all-terrain vehicle trail.

There were two other people in the vehicle at the time of the crash, said Tomasoski.

Tomasoski said that the cause of the accident remains under investigation. He did not say if anyone sustained injuries in the crash.

Traffic had to be diverted for about two hours.

Also responding to the scene were Northstar EMS, the Iron County Sheriff's Department, Michigan State Police, Iron County Search and Rescue, and U.P. Power.
