THREE LAKES, Wis. - Janice A. Miller, 83, of Three Lakes and formerly of New London, Wis., passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.

She was born Sept. 2, 1930, in the township of Deer Creek in Outagamie County, Wis., daughter of the late Leonard and Leona (Paul) Knapp. Janice grew up in the Bear Creek and Clintonville areas of Wisconsin. She graduated from Clintonville High School, class of 1948. Janice married Roger W. Miller on April 7, 1951, at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Clintonville. They were blessed with 62 years of marriage.

Janice worked as a medical assistant for 27 years for Dr. Clarence Topp in Clintonville, all while farming alongside her husband, Roger. In 1976, they moved to the Three Lakes area where they owned and operated Miller's Shady Lane Resort until 1988. They continued to reside in the Three Lakes area at their home on Julia Creek. During that time, Janice and Roger started a new adventure by working with the Lutheran Digest and the Lutheran Churches for the next 10 years.

Janice served on the Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce Board for 10 years, was secretary for the Northern Lites Snowmobile Club for five years, and served on the Oneida County Commission of Aging Board for five years. Janice was also a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes, where she served on the Altar Guild.

Janice's love for family and friends were an important part of her life. With them she shared her love of fishing, hunting, watching sports with her husband on TV, music, dancing and attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Miller; two daughters, Deborah (Darryl) Navis of Markesan, Wis. and Diana Miller of Three Lakes; one sister, Lorna (Ron) Piette of Neenah, Wis.; two grandchildren, Chad (Jodi) Navis and Dawn (Doug) Disch, both of Waupun, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Jensen, Brady and Eliza Navis and Noah, Abram and Allison Disch; and members of her extended family and dear friends.

In accordance with Janice's wishes a memorial service has taken place at Faith Lutheran Church in Three Lakes.
