Knights sweep Manistique 25-18, 25-23, 25-19

NORWAY - Leah Mattson's seven kills led Norway in a 25-18, 25-23, 25-19 Mid-Peninsula volleyball victory over Manistique here Thursday.

"My girls came out strong tonight and played with a lot of heart," Norway coach Kayla DeBakker said. "I'm beyond proud of the way they came together and played tonight."

Jacey Bal (16 digs) and Lexi Negro (16 digs) keyed the Knights' defense. Norway served 11 aces, including five from Negro.

"The girls were smart with the ball," DeBakker said. "Both teams were super scrappy tonight and that was also good to see. Serving was a lot better tonight and that helped boost the wins."

Norway's jayvees fell 2-1. The Lady Knights host Negaunee Oct. 31.
