Parking ban set to begin

October 31, 2013
The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN - Overnight winter parking bans for the cities of Iron Mountain and Kingsford will go into effect on Friday.

Vehicles will be prohibited from parking on streets, alleys, and city-owned parking lots between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

The ban runs through March 31 in Kingsford and through April 30 in Iron Mountain.

Iron Mountain Police Chief Peter Flaminio and Kingsford Public Safety Director Tim Gussert said that officers will not begin enforcing the ban until the first measurable snowfall requiring snowplows occurs.

However, they encouraged residents to be aware of approaching winter weather systems, as enforcement will begin without further notice.
