Arctic Blast looking to add players

QUINNESEC - U.P. Arctic Blast football team will hold two recruiting and information sessions for prospective players.

The first will be held at the Quality Inn in Escanaba on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Central time). The second will be held at the Big Ten Sports Bar and Grill on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Blast head coach Josh Bellefeuille will be on hand to answer questions, and letters of intent will be available to sign.

The Blast are members of the Mid-West Football League, which includes eight semi-pro teams from the region. The league plays May through July. Practices start in January.

The Blast earned league titles in 2005, 2006 and 2011, and took runner-up honors in 2012.

Rostered players are from Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Norway, Stephenson, Iron River, Channing, Ishpeming, Marquette, Escanaba and Munising. Players range in age from 18 to 49 years, and experience from high school football through Division I and II college.

Players must be at least age 18 and have completed high school eligibility.
