DUNBAR, Wis. - The Pembine Area Women's Christmas party will be held Monday, Dec. 2, at Richard's Supper Club in Dunbar. Cocktails and registration begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner choices include quarter broasted chicken and ribs, deep fried shrimp, beef tips over pasta, poor man's lobster over wild rice blend. All meals include baked potato (unless your meal comes with pasta or rice), salad, dessert and coffee.
All area women are invited to come and celebrate the holiday season, notes an organizer.
The Pembine Area Women's Christmas party began in the early 1950s with the women of St. Margaret's Parish in Pembine. The late Ann Zenko was instrumental in its conception. Over the years it has evolved into a great evening for area women to socialize.
With drawings and a 50/25/25 drawing the group is able to raise money for area charities, and with generous donations from area businesses, the drawings and door prizes are a highlight of the evening.
Each year a volunteer committee is formed to plan next year's party. This year's committee includes Susie Schmidt, Kathy Schutte, Kris Bolssen, Brittney Burch and Rosey Hatton.
The cost of the meal is $17 and includes taxes and a tip. A $3 membership fee is also collected to help defray costs of planning the party.
Reservations are due Friday, Nov. 22, and can be made by calling Susie Schmidt at (715) 324-6293, or Kathy Schutte at (715) 548-0469. Dinner choice and a phone number must be given when making your reservation.
Everyone is encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for local food pantries and an unwrapped toy for area children. Attendees are also able to participate in the $5 gift exchange.
