MARQUETTE - Iron Mountain's Jared Gauthier captured the 125-pound title in the 19-team Marquette Challenge high school wrestling tournament Saturday.
The unbeaten junior (13-0 on the season) decisioned Seth Lashuay of Gaylord, 8-4, for the title.
"Jared wrestled an outstanding tournament," Mountaineer coach Brandon Rutter said. "From whistle to whistle he controlled the match."

Iron Mountain also recorded two fifths from Alex Edwards (119) and Jacob Weslin (145).
Edwards was wrestling for the first time this season at 119. Weslin avenged a first-round defeat.
Edwards (10-1 record) prevailed over James Bruce of Gladstone, 2-0, in the fifth-place match. Jacob Weslin (9-4) pinned Jason Brown of St. Ignace.
"Edwards turned in a great day and Weslin rebounded to beat good kids," Rutter said.
New Lothrop, 246, claimed team honors, with Merrill, Wis., second at 204. Gladstone, sixth with 114, led U.P. squads. Iron Mountain placed 12th with 51.
Iron Mountain wrestles Saturday in the Menominee Super Duals.
