‘One pot’ meth lab discovered

December 28, 2013
The Daily News

GWINN - A methamphetamine lab was busted and two people were arrested Thursday in Delta County's Ford River Township.

The incident occurred at a residence located at 4477 M-35.

Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff's Department had been conducting a well-being check when they learned that there was a "one pot meth lab" in the residence.

Along with detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET), deputies drafted a search warrant. They then seized the lab and other components used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

UPSET detectives said that a man and a woman were arrested at the scene on unrelated charges.

A report will be forwarded to the Delta County Prosecutor for review and possible additional charges.

UPSET detectives added that they transported all hazardous waste from the lab to an approved holding site.

Assisting at the scene were the Ford River Township Fire Department and Escanaba Public Safety.
