IRON MOUNTAIN - Two Iron River residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Sagola Township.

A tow truck hauls away the vehicle that was involved in an accident Thursday at the intersection of M-95 and M-69 East in Sagola Township. Two Iron River residents were injured in the crash.
The crash occurred at about 4:05 p.m. at the intersection of M-95 and M-69 East.
Troopers from the Iron Mountain post of the Michigan State Police said that 59-year-old Russell Westman of Iron River was traveling west on M-69 East when he drove through the M-95 intersection and into the ditch on the other side.
Westman's vehicle came to rest west of the railroad tracks adjacent to M-95.
Troopers said that Westman's passenger, 79-year-old Grace Westman of Iron River, was ejected from the vehicle.
Both Russell and Grace Westman were transported by ambulance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Troopers had no updates this morning on their conditions.
Troopers added that seatbelts were not worn, and that alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident.
Assisting at the scene were STAR Ambulance and Integrated First Response Ambulance.
