The Iron Mountain Main Street has announced that Eighth Annual Italian Fest will return to downtown Iron Mountain, and this year, it will be a two-day event - Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16.
As always, the festival will take place in the city parking lot located at the intersection of East A Street and Iron Mountain Street.
This family friendly event encourages residents and visitors to celebrate the local Italian heritage with great food, drinks, and music.
Italian vendors will be there with mouth watering Italian cuisine, and the beer and wine tent stocked with local and Italian beverages.
There will be bocce ball court, the inflatable children's play area, games, and face painting.
The Grape Stomp, Italian Idol and Pizza Dough Tossing Competition will also be making a return.
Now that's Italian.
Kingsford music takes center stage in Orlando this week. The Kingsford High School Music Department, under the direction of Ben Sherk and Crystal Hogan, are in Orlando, Fla. today to perform at Disney World.
Hogan said 67 students and 12 chaperones and the two directors will be in Orlando.
"Each participant has been saving up for the trip for three years and are looking forward to the experience," Hogan said.
The group will enjoy the Disney parks as well as perform during the week. The KHS marching band and chorus, forming a color guard, will march in the Parade of Lights in the Magic Kingdom this Monday night.
To complement their music, they will be decked out with blue and white led lights. The songs they will be playing are "Hey Baby" and "Funky Town."
The chorus will sing on Wednesday, April 2, at the Melody Gardens stage in Epcot.
They will sing the following entertaining songs: "Eye of the Tiger," "Come Go with Me," "Hallelujah" from Shrek, "Dancin' to the Sixties" and "It Don't Mean a Thing."
