GREEN BAY, Wis. - Rita Louise (Peterson) LaBombarb, 62, of Green Bay, passed away on March 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Crystal Falls on July 23, 1951, to Raymond and Veronica (Fruik) Peterson. Rita married James LaBombarb in 1968, and the couple lived in Crystal Falls where they had their first daughter, Jill, before relocating to Green Bay, where they had their second daughter, Brenda.
Rita was a loving mother who enjoyed staying at home with her girls while they were young and being a homemaker. She enjoyed interacting with people and loved waitressing and her position at ADRC working with seniors. Rita cherished spending time with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She was a loving and kind person who will be missed by many.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Jill (Matt) Lowen and their children, Justin and Dakota; daughter, Brenda (Curt) Nysted and their children Meghan and Brett; significant other, Don Reeb and family; close friend and father of her children, Jim LaBombarb; parents, Raymond and Veronica Peterson; brothers, Robert (Judy) Peterson and Randy (Tara) Peterson; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends and her dog, Lacey; who brought comfort to her during her illness.
Rita was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Tammela and staff as well as the staff at Unity Hospice for their care and compassion for Rita.
A private celebration of her life will be held at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home.
