CRYSTAL FALLS - Kenneth E. Ollila, 63, of Crystal Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Aug. 9, 1950, son of Helen (Nylund) and the late Oliver Ollila. He attended Crystal Falls schools, graduating from Forest Park High School in 1968. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Teresa Skibo, for 42 years. Ken worked for 31 years as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring on Aug. 31, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls. As a young boy Ken lived on Swan Lake before moving into a home that his dad built in the City of Crystal Falls. Years later he and his wife Teresa were able to move back to beautiful Swan Lake. Ken loved the tranquility of the lake and his camp. He also cherished spending time in the solitude of his deer blind at camp. Each week Ken looked forward to golfing with his regular "golf buddies" on Tuesday night. Ken's greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family.
