KINGSFORD - Kenneth C. Lessor Sr., 88, of East Kingsford, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
He was born on July 5, 1925, in Chicago, the son Clarence and Mildred (Brazeau) Lessor.
Ken served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He drove truck for Smeester Trucking and Schneider Metal, retiring in 1988.
Ken enjoyed horseback riding, car rides, and going to Dalla's Restaurant for breakfast. He loved animals, especially his horses; cats, Mama and Charlie; and his dogs, Snookims and Ginger.
Ken is survived by five children, Kenneth Jr. (Donna) Lessor of Norway, Dale (Doris) Lessor of Iron Mountain, Dennis (Shay) Lessor of Kingsford, David Lessor of Hudson, Mich., and Diane (Jeff) Presley of Randville; one brother Leonard (Betty) Lessor of Kingsford; one sister Beverly Conery of Kingsford; one brother-in-law Everett (Geri) Doehr of San Diego; one sister-in-law Muriel Hadcock of Georgia; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy and Floyd Lessor.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Monsignor James Kaczmarek will officiate.
Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
