MBM Construction catcher Brett Swanson tags out Niagara American Legion's Hunter Kaldor in a squeeze play Wednesday at Quinnesec. Niagara's Justin Bal and umpire Frank Pietrantonio look on. Niagara, fueled by a seven-run second inning, defeated MBM 12-2. A two-run single by Ethan Blagec and back-to-back doubles by Bob Kleiman and Bryce Grayvold helped Niagara's second-inning surge. Swanson and Alex St. Aubin poked run-scoring singles to get MBM on the board later in the game. Niagara collected 10 hits against MBM pitchers Andy Barker and Kyle Henes. Kaldor, Kevin Evosevich and Bal threw for Niagara, giving up four hits while striking out seven and walking two. Niagara heads to Marquette Saturday for a doubleheader with the Blues.
