FLORENCE, Wis. - The truck contest will return to the Florence County Fair this year, however, this contest is quite different from a "normal" truck show.
Fair festivities begin Friday, Aug. 22, and continue through Sunday, Aug. 24.
The truck contest is open to people inside and outside of Florence County. Trucks must be in running condition to participate.

Judges will be on hand to award dash plaques and $10 cash prizes for first place in the following categories: loudest truck, based on muffler; tallest truck, based on lift and tire size; shortest or lowest truck, and best sound system.
Dash plaques and $10 cash prizes will be awarded based on participant vote in the following categories: most rusted truck, ugliest truck, and most colorful truck.
Registration for the truck contest will be on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Judging begins at 4 p.m. Participant ballots must be in by 3:45 p.m. and winners will be announced by 4:30 p.m.
A $5 entry fee for each truck will be charged. Trucks participating in this contest will not be required to have a parking pass on Saturday between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
