You do realize that 5% of the population has 95% of the wealth right? It really looks to me like we are splitting ourselves, not down the middle but mostly down the middle. The outcome of which is gonna be ugly.

Well if you live in Michigan you no doubt voted for Granholm (not me)and she has been doing a whiz bang job of running the state in a deep hole. I don't see how taxing the crap out of the wealthy will make up for the 30% of Americans that pay no taxes. All that will do is make them go overseas where taxes are cheaper. Wealth redistribution works fine for socialists countries which we are not.

Yeah Blackhawk - Warren Buffet is a lazy welfare case - George Soros too. LOL These guys admit - their taxation rate - the percentage of their income they pay in taxes is lower than most of America - Buffet says it's embarrassing. It cracks me up that someone who lives in Iron Mountain Michigan - where the average income is $32,526 (less than even the national average of $41,994) - would vote to pay more taxes than George Soros or Warren Buffet or John and Cindy McCain. For what? A little macho talk ? LOL LOL Well - you know what they say - men who talk big - have "little" issues. :)

Blackhawk....what an incredible bunch of hooey. I am a female democrat and pay a good amount in taxes every year as did my mother and my grandmother before me. I am a public servant and don't care to "build wealth". I am happy being able to put food on the table for my family and to continue to afford gas. Most democrats just want the rest of the country to be able to say the same. Overall, statistics show that republicans are more wealthy than democrats and vote for more tax breaks for the rich. It is hard to argue with impartial numbers.

Republicans are for the working people and the ones who have the ambition to build wealth. They don't sit around and wait for the government to provide for them. Judging by most of the posts I've been reading here they are also the ones who support and serve in the military. The Democrats stand on the sidelines and complain about how well off others are and look for ways to get something for nothing. Let's tax the people who made something of themselves honestly and give it to the ones that didn't anything to earn it. There are shady wealthy people but that's how Obama got rich.

I would NEVER cast a vote for the same two parties that have raped the Constitution and Bankrupt the country! The Libertarians represent the EXACT beliefs of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. So I stand with THEM! Barr/Root 2008 Because Thomas Jefferson was RIGHT!

The problem is I would vote for Paul too and did in the primary, but as a point of fact. The numbers of independents are maybe 18%. Basically my point is we have to vote Obama. Why? Because if we vote to make a point it will end up being pointless. All we will do is assure McCain wins, at least here in Michigan. Its voting for the lesser of two. Pure and simple. I would love to make a point with my vote too, but the truth remains that it will only help McCain. And again.. if you don't vote then you do not have permission to bit ch about anything political. Period. Don't believe in these people who claim Obama is in experienced. He is in a way, but at least he has intelligence to make a decision and not a room of poweraids who only want to keep the rich richer. If you watched the clips of Palin talking to Couric and still vote for McCain then I feel very sorry for you. She only proved that they are telling her what to say. Obama may not be perfect but its better than the alternative

People really do amaze me. Staring at the blatantly obvious, we can make a choice that goes against just about everything that we stand for. If I could vote my heart I would vote for Ron Paul, because he would actually change things, but since this is a two party system then I will have to vote for who will do the most good and the least bad. From where I am sitting, John McCain and his Alaskan princess are most definitely not it. Anyone that claims GW Bush has been doing a great job needs to be exorcised or maybe Guantanamo Bay for a short stay to wake you up! Obama may not have all the experience but at least he is a lot closer than that. Remember if you don't vote then you have no reason to say anything!!!!

I don't know if I would go that far about Obama Randall, but I am leaning hard towards McCain as well. Obama is a wonderful speaker much like Clinton was. He tells us exactly what we want to hear. The problem is his actions and his rhetoric are two completely different animals. In his limited time in the Senate he has strictly voted along party lines, while McCain has a history of voting across the lines. That is McCain's strongest point and that is Obama's weakness. As far as new ideas each will be bringing.... Not much to comment on from either. Obama promises change yet doesn't propose much. If fact the limited proposals he has had I disagree with. McCain isn't all that far behind him with the lack of good ideas. Honestly I think if Obama is elected we will be paying $8 for a gallon of gas by the end of 2012 and have the largest tax hike in the history of the country. If McCain wins I think it will be a little better with a larger deficit. Just one point of view.

Obama has as much experience as Lincoln did, so why is that a problem? Most of us wouldn't be here if it weren't for Abe and he wasn't trusted or liked very much in his day. And with all this flak about character, hey where is the lookover on McCain's first marriage? Like this story in the L.A. times: ***********latimes****/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-divorce11-2008jul11,0,5924926,full.story Carol Shepp was ill and still recovering from a bad accident, then John McCain gets an Arizona marriage certificate for Cindy while still Carol's husband, officially a month before the official divorce date. How is this possibly okay? Shouldn't someone at least be looking into this more? Eric Ostling (Pelto family member, Ahmeek)

Three years in the Senate. One of which running for President. A babe in the woods. I thought the Democratic primaries were the funniest thing Ive ever seen. But watching Democrats support this guy with a straight face leaves me gasping for air. It reminds me of the Monty Python black knight scene. He’s not qualified.... Yes he is. He hasn’t any experience.... That ok. He hasn’t any economic military or diplomatic back round.... He speaks well.

This year is going to be a tough decision. I'm going for McCain because the alternative is just another Jimmy Carter. He has poor no experience, has poor judgement, and is a Marxist now trying to run to the center. Scary!
