Hmm. Downloading the debate now, but thanks for giving me some expectations. This is pretty much what I expected.

Both candidates have spent time on foreign soil. McCain as a prisoner of war so he naturally views other cultures as enemies. Obama has actually lived among people of other cultures and understands them on a more human level.

HAHAHA.....Caribou Barbie....love it! I thought that Obama's use of McCain's first name humanized both of them. I believe that there is a place for strict social etiquette but it is not needed in a debate. To those who criticize Obama for his supposed lack of patriotism....wake up! We are living in a global world, not a single nation. Read "The World is Flat" to get a better perspective on how most Americans need to change their thinking. I applaud and appreciate Obama's stand as a citizen of the world. I believe that his diplomacy and intelligence will serve him well...even in foreign policy issues. And before I am characterized as un-American... we can trace our family back to the Mayflower, had relatives who fought in all the major wars, and most relatives are card-carrying members of the NRA.

Obama was the CLEAR winner...McCain was a total knob. He looked nervous, and very unprofessional. and the fact that he did not look at Obama once showed how disrespectful he can be. Is that how he will meet with world leaders? He is a joke - and so is Caribeau Barbie.

McCain was the clear winner. Obama is clueless as far as foreign policy goes. You can't sit down and talk to terrorists. I also like the way he tried to act like he is on the same level as McCain by calling him John. It shows disrespect for a junior Senator to address a senior Senator by his first name. Obama is still the coffee fetcher in the senate. As far as the economy goes it looks like he is wrong as to how much common people support his party's bailout. Maybe if Polosi would keep her partisan mouth shut and actually listen something could done. Obama stated he is not proud to be American once again during the debate. You can't trust someone that is running for president that will criticize the country he hopes to lead.

Obama was the CLEAR winner. He was very clear and concise while being very respectful to a very ingnorant and disrespectful McCain. McCain was exposed as a hypocrite and a stuttering boob. However, these PRIVATE debates are merely meant to keep the weak minded followers of these two corrupt parties in lock step with the rest of the lemmings. Third party candidates were batrred from participating in the debates for fear of losing their koolaid drinking followers to someone who actually has a clue! Joseph Stalin would truely be proud of the Democrats and the Republicans!

Obama was not on the attack as much as McCain.... He seemed more confident than McCain in his stand on the issues that he did not attempt to be condesending as McCain was trying to be to Obama

I went by body language. Obama was confident, sincere and atempting to be honest. McCain was deceptive and appeared to be stumbling with his answers. McCain sometimes appeared to dance around direct responses to questions, where Obama usually tried to address the issue.

A pundit said, "McCain looked to the past, Obama to the future." That was experience McCain was looking at. Obama was looking through naiativty and rose colored glasses while he read the old liberal party lines of class warfare and the belief you can talk your enemies to death. It never worked in the past and won't in the future either.
