Forest Park girls spill Bark River-Harris

Nylund scores 24

CRYSTAL FALLS — Abby Nylund scored 24 points, lifting Forest Park to a 54-41 win over Bark River-Harris in Skyline Central Conference girls basketball Friday.

“We played really well together as a team,” said Lady Trojans coach Jackie Giuliani. “We came focused and ready to play.”

Hannah Cross chipped in 11 points and Becky Kolenda collected seven points and eight rebounds. Nylund, who was 8 for 9 on free throws, recorded six steals as Forest Park gained 19 points off turnovers.

“Abby Nylund had a phenomenal game,” Giuliani said. “She showed her leadership skills everywhere.”

Forest Park led 24-21 at halftime before building a 39-30 cushion entering the fourth.

Bark River-Harris was led by Kelsey Boucher and Paige Welch with 10 points apiece.

The Lady Trojans were charged with just 14 fouls after committing 24 in Tuesday’s loss to North Central. “We didn’t reach,” Giuliani said.

Forest Park (1-1) will host Carney-Nadeau on Tuesday.
