First U.P. Basketball Poll Released

IRONWOOD — U.P. Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association has released its first basketball poll of the season.

Unbeaten North Central leads Class D boys while unbeaten Norway is second to Negaunee in Class ABC boys.

Houghton and Baraga lead the girls poll. Norway and Forest Park stand second in the polls.

Boys

Class ABC

1.  Negaunee (7) 6-0 record, 35 poll points; 2. Norway 6-0, 24;       3. Marquette 6-1, 20; 4. Gladstone 4-1, 13; 5. Iron Mountain 5-1, 9.

Class D
