Girls Basketball: Big run propels Norway girls to win against North Dickinson

FELCH — Norway, triggered by a 24-3 run in the second quarter, downed North Dickinson 70-20 in non-conference play Friday.

The Knights (10-0) held a 15-8 lead after the first quarter.

“We got unplugged in the second quarter,” said North Dickinson coach Rick Faust. “This was a tough one but Norway is a good Class C team. We’re young and inexperienced.”

Norway’s Haley Clifford scored a game-high 23 points. Britta Grayvold chipped in 12 points while Kelly Madigan finished with 11.

“We still have work to do,” said Norway coach Carli Kelly. “I told the girls ‘we’re not coasting, we’re not in cruise control. We still have to go out there and play hard.”

Freshman Hannah Clark topped the Nordics (2-8) with five points.

Norway hosts West Iron County on Monday. North Dickinson visits Kingsford on Tuesday.

Norway won the JV game 48-25.
