Track and field: West Iron County girls take 3rd place

IRONWOOD —  The West Iron County girls track and field team placed third at the Ironwood Invitational on Wednesday.

The Wykons scored 74 points, finishing behind first-place Ashland (Wis.) and Ironwood. The boys team placed seventh with 31 points.

Emmy Kinner took three firsts in the 100-meter dash (13.87), 200 dash (28.21) and 400 dash (1:03.02). She also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 4 inches.

West Iron’s 1600 relay team placed fourth with a time of 5:07.91 and took fourth in the 3200 relay with a time of 12:39.08.
