Former Packer candidate for board

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers will present two candidates for shareholder vote to join the Packers Board of Directors, Dexter E. McNabb and Karl A. Schmidt.

The candidate information, according to packers.com, was included in proxy information sent this month to more than 360,000 shareholders in advance of the annual meeting, set for 11 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Lambeau Field.

Schmidt and McNabb were approved by vote of the organization’s board of directors at its quarterly meeting earlier this month.

McNabb, a former Packers fullback who played the 1992 and 1993 seasons with the club, is an associate principal of Green Bay West High School.

PROGRAM WEDNESDAY: The 37th annual Lee Remmel Packer Night will start at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Recreation Lanes.

Former running back and Packers community outreach department’s player/alumni senior coordinator Tony Fisher will be the special guest.

Fisher will also sign autographs at the Midtown Mall from 4 to 5 p.m. Autographs are free.

TRAINING CAMP: The Packers have announced the schedule for training camp. As in the past, practices are scheduled to take place at Ray Nitschke Field and Packers Family Night will be at Lambeau Field.

With a theme of “Back to Football,” training camp kicks off with an 8:15 a.m. practice on Thursday, July 27. After the opening session, morning practices beginning at 8:15 a.m. are also scheduled for July 28, 29, 31 and Aug. 1.

The Packers will hold two night practices, beginning at 6.15 p.m. on Aug. 3-4, before Family Night takes place at Lambeau Field on Saturday, Aug. 5.
