Brad Richtig guides Norway Little League’s 11-year-old baseball team in next week’s state tournament at Schoolcraft.

He’s been to a state tourney before.

Richtig was a key to Florence High School advancing to the 1998 WIAA Division 3 state semifinals in Appleton’s Fox Cities Stadium.

Seniors Kris Johnson (.656 batting average), Richtig (.588) and Rick Chrisman (.586) led Coach Dave LaPoint’s Bobcats at the plate. Johnson and Mike Flannery paced the pitching staff.

Florence’s only loss of the season came in the semifinals, where top-ranked Royall triumphed 7-5. The teams combined for 13 errors.

Good luck to all of the area Little League teams in state competition …
