Regional finals: This week’s playoff football matchups

Eight-player teams in state semifinals

West Iron County plays Saturday in its first regional championship game since 2008. The Wykons host Frankfort (8-2) in a Division 8 matchup at 12:30 p.m. CST on Saturday at Nelson Field.

Menominee, in its first three-loss regular season since 2011, look to keep momentum on its side after beating Kingsford last week. The Maroons (8-3) play at Reed City (10-1) at 5 p.m. in a Division 5 matchup.

Forest Park eyes its first berth in the eight-player state championship. The Trojans (9-2) visit unbeaten Pickford at 5 p.m. in a Division 2 showdown. The winner moves on to face the winner of Kinde-North Huron (10-1) vs. Portland St. Patrick (10-1).

Escanaba (9-2) hosts Williamston (7-4) at 6 p.m. in a Division 4 contest.

Friday, Nov. 10

Division 4

Escanaba (9-2) vs. Williamston (7-4), 6 p.m. Last week: Escanaba beat Alma, 42-14. Williamston beat Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, 47-21.

Division 5

Menominee (8-3) at Reed City (10-1), 5 p.m. Last week: Menominee beat Kingsford, 24-21. Reed City beat Clare, 34-7.


Division 2 Semifinal

Forest Park (9-2) at Pickford (11-0), 5 p.m. Last week: Forest Park beat Engadine, 62-20. Pickford beat Onekama, 26-14.

Saturday, Nov. 11

Division 8

West Iron County (10-1) vs. Frankfort (8-2), 12:30 p.m. Last week: West Iron County beat Norway, 20-14. Frankfort beat Gaylord St. Mary, 53-30.


Division 1 Semifinal

Stephenson (9-2) at Central Lake (11-0), 2 p.m. Last week: Stephenson beat Cedarville, 30-24. Central Lake beat Suttons Bay, 58-26.
