Coleman’s first-half sinks Florence

COLEMAN — Coleman exploded for 60 first-half points and defeated Florence 93-51 in non-conference boys basketball Friday.

The Bobcats (3-4) trailed 60-26 at halftime.

“Coleman was an eye opener for our young crew,” said Florence Coach Bryan Bomberg. “We’ll go back to work and get better.”

Coleman’s Austin Marquardt led all scorers with 29 points, Cayden Bintz had 17, Cole Woulf added 14 and Payton Nelson finished with 13.

Bintz made five 3-pointers and Austin Marquardt made four.

“Coleman played very well,” Bomberg said. “They’re quick, shoot the basketball and defend real well.”

Riley Hixon led the Bobcats with 23 points. Evan Beaster had 15 and Kalen Schuls chipped in 11 with six assists.

Florence had 28 turnovers.

Florence begins a stretch of three straight home games with Lena on Jan. 2.

Coleman won the junior varsity game.
