Munising rolls past North Central

Girls Basketball

MUNISING — The Munising girls proved a tough match-up for North Central as they handed the Jets a 76-30 loss.

Munising led 26-5 after the first quarter and 49-17 at halftime of the Skyline Central Conference outing.

“They’re big and fast and they play good defense,” said Jets coach Lee Vincent. “They posted up well and got the shots. The girls played hard. We just couldn’t match up with them.”

Kianne Wendt led the Mustangs (4-0 overall, 3-0 league) with 23 points. Marissa Ackerman added 12. Delaney Smith hit 10 for the Jets (1-4 overall and league).

The Jets, who won the jayvee game 57-20, are idle until Jan. 2 when they host Menominee. Munising hosts Newberry Tuesday.
