Boys basketball: Trojans defeat Bark River

CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park turned up the heat in the third quarter and toppled Bark-River Harris 61-51 in a Skyline Central Conference game Friday.

“Real nice defense,” said Trojans coach Chris Nocerini, crediting Max Nylund and Josh Logan for holding Bark River marksman Ryan Arndt to 13 points.

Logan scored 16 to lead Forest Park and Nylund, Riley Hendrickson and Connor Bortolini added 11 points each.

“Jonah Logan and Jake Frisanco did a great job on the boards,” Nocerini said. Hendrickson and Bortolini both had strong nights handling the ball, he added.

Tied 20-20 at halftime, the Trojans outscored the Broncos 23-12 in the third quarter.

“The kids really responded,” Nocerini said.

The Trojans shot 41 percent from three-point range, hitting 10 of 24.
