Four named Hometowne athletes of the month

IRON MOUNTAIN — Four athletes were chosen the male and female Hometowne athletes of the month for March and April.

Iron Mountain’s Olivia Berutti, Kingsford’s Hunter Lindeman and Olivia Allen along with Niagara’s Josh Weber.

Berutti, a track standout for the Mountaineers, has won every 100-meter and 100 hurdles event in which she competed.

Allen, short- and middle-distance star at Kingsford, took first place in the 100, 200, 400, along with the 1600 relay. She lost just one 100 dash this season. She has yet to be beaten in the 200, 400 or 1600 relay.

Lindeman, a baseball stalwart for the Flivvers, batted .620 with an on-base percentage of .890 and eight stolen bases. He also had no defensive errors.

Weber, a sophomore at Niagara, batted .500 with three doubles, no strikeouts, an on-base percentage .591, a .588 slugging percentage and six runs scored.
