College Basketball: Bilski leads Tech against UWGB

College Basketball

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Former North Central star Dawson Bilski scored a team-high 20 points as Michigan Tech gave UW-Green Bay all it could handle in a 94-74 men’s basketball exhibition loss Thursday.

The Huskies led 40-35 at the break and went up by as many as 14 points in the second half before Green Bay put together a late charge.

“We executed our systems really well throughout the night and had solid contributions from a number of players,” said MTU Coach Kevin Luke. “However, in the end their athleticism took over and created problems for us in the last few minutes of the game.”

Bilski hit 8 of 12 field goals — 4 for 7 from three-point range. The sophomore also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists.

The Huskies will tip-off the regular season in the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge in Marquette, facing Lewis University at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, and McKendree at 1 p.m. Sunday.
