Ladies Day shooting event offered in UP

ONTONAGON – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources in August will offer women an opportunity to learn more about guns and archery.

The Lake Superior Sportsman’s Club, will conduct its annual all ladies shooting workshop from 1 to 5 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, Aug. 13, at its clubhouse near Silver City.

This non-competitive shooting event will focus on the safe and enjoyable use of handguns, rifles, and archery equipment.

The club will provide guns, ammunition, archery equipment and refreshments.

If participants wish, they may bring their own handguns, rifles, ammunition, and/or archery equipment. Also, bring your own eye and ear protection if you have it; the club will have limited supplies.

This event has a limited number of openings, so preregistration is required.

The workshop will take place rain or shine; all shooting will be indoors at the Lake Superior Sportsman’s Clubhouse, 31433 West M-64, east of Silver City.

For more information or to preregister, contact program coordinator Bob Wild at 906-885-5206.
