MARQUETTE –The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is offering a Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman backpacking workshop at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park for women who have previous backpacking experience, and would like to expand their skills and abilities.

The workshop is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 15-17. A gear check and trip orientation will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the east end of the state park in Silver City. Afterward, the group will drive to the trailhead to begin its weekend adventure.
