Sportsman’s Seminar and Supper Feb. 24

IRON MOUNTAIN — The 20th annual Sportsman’s Seminar and Supper will be Saturday, Feb. 24, at Iron Mountain Central Middle School.

Sponsored by Family Baptist Church of Kingsford, the event begins at 3 p.m., with dinner served at 5 p.m.

Ross Crowe will be the main speaker at 6:15 p.m., presenting “Fishing the Right Stuff.”

Door prizes donated by local businesses will be given away. A free will offering will be accepted.

Seminars to be featured from 3 to 5 p.m. include:

— Traditional archery pointers, Merlin Caulkins.

— Interactive electronic hunting scenarios, Dave Painter.

— Fly-casting clinic, Ken Huven.

— Walleye fishing, Ross Crowe.

“Froggin’ Frenzy” fishing, Rusty Roesch.

Displays offered from 3 to 5 p.m. include:

— 4-H shooting sports and Bull’s Eyes to Bad Guys, Tony Erickson.

— Wildlife rehabilitation and Journey the owl, Phyllis Carlson.

— Identifying Michigan mammals and frogs, Walt Summers.

— Beginning trapping, furs and skulls display, Nathan Ruble.

— Bass fishing on local river reservoirs and “Take a Vet Fishing,” Tom Gursky.

— Trolling the Great Lakes for trout and salmon, Al Hart and Bob Madigan.

— Scoring a buck — bring racks or mounts to be scored, Fran McCarthy.

— Pan fishing, Mark Mylcreest.

— Turkey hunting and bobcat mounts, Tom Walker.

— United Sportsmen Inc., Chris Grosskopt.
