ESCANABA –The National Trappers Association’s annual Convention and Outdoor Show will take place July 26-28 at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba

Among the many experts attending and presenting will be Mike “Red” O’Hearn, director in the Iowa Trappers Association.

Since he was a boy, O’Hearn has loved trapping and the outdoors. He has trapped in at least nine different states and has put up impressive capture numbers.

In the summer months, he works at his beekeeping business and does some turtle trapping. Along with that, he continues to be an ambassador for the sport of trapping and he works diligently to ensure its continued existence.

“Red O’Hearn is bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge which he will share at the convention,” said Jeremy Lundin secretary-treasurer of U.P. Trappers Association, District 3. “Persons attending his demo are sure to gain valuable knowledge on trap choice, set location and technique. Red is surely a ‘must see’ for all trappers.”

The convention features items of interest to all family members.
