Greenhouse plant sale starts Monday at Bay

ESCANABA — The annual Bay College greenhouse plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time from Monday through Friday in room 116 adjacent to the greenhouse in the Math-Science Building at the college in Escanaba.

The sale focuses on native perennial wildflowers grown from locally collected seed. A limited selection of other perennials, as well as several good performing varieties of tomatoes, peppers, and herbs, and red hybrid geraniums will also be available.

Proceeds from the sale go to support the Math Science Club, the annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Colloquia Series, and the continuing operation of the greenhouse which produces plant stock for local community gardens, Esky Grow, the Escanaba Migratory Bird Enhancement Initiative, and monarch habitat restoration projects in the Hiawatha National Forest.

Pricing starts at $15 per flat (mix and match), and 50 cents for each individually potted plant.
