ROLAND AND MARIA ANDERSON
KINGSFORD — Roland and Maria Anderson of Kingsford celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with their three children, grandchildren and their spouses at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford in February.
Roland and the former Maria Scherer were married Nov. 29, 1947, in the Mirabell Castle in Salzburg, Austria, which was a military wedding.
On Dec. 7, 1947, they were married in the Catholic church in Fusch, Austria, Maria’s birthplace.
Roland spent 23 years in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and in the U.S.
Maria has been a dedicated Avon representative for more than 49 years, going for 50.
