Pugh — 50th

IRON MOUNTAIN — Tom and Eileen (Asplund) Pugh of Iron Mountain and Manistique recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.  

They were married Aug. 24, 1968, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.  

After Tom’s service with the U.S. Army (OCS Ft. Banning, Ga.) the couple moved to Washington D.C. where Tom worked for a member of Congress in the U.S. House of Representatives.  

In 1976 the couple made their home in Springfield, Ohio, where they raised their three children, Tommy, Steven and Kathleen.  

In 2000 they returned to their Wisconsin/Michigan roots, buying homes in Iron Mountain and Spread Eagle.  

They live part time in Manistique where Tom joined the Edward Jones firm in 2004 as a financial advisor.  

Celebrating their 50 years of marriage, the couple traveled to Europe in July, and then  enjoyed a family reunion/vacation in Yellowstone National Park and Chico Hot Springs, Montana.

Children and 10 grandchildren include Tom and Temre Pugh of Stillwater, Minn.; Steven and Paige Pugh of Manistique, and Kathleen and Jack Burnett of Chicago. Grandchildren are Lilia, Grace, Annie, Eliza Pugh; Elle, Ross, Mack Pugh; and Livia, Claudia, and Sabina Burnett.
