Car club plans Woodward Cruise on Thursday

KINGSFORD — The Just Cruizin’ Car Club has announced the annual Woodward Cruise will be Thursday, instead of the night before the show as had been done in the past.

Line-up will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Kingsford High School parking lot. The parade of cars will leave at 6 p.m. and cruise west on Woodward Avenue, with pass-through stops at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community and Evergreen Assisted Living to show off the cars to interested residents.

“The facilities are very appreciative and have thanked the group in previous years,” Dianne Castelaz-Chiapusio said. “Residents really look forward to having the cars come through each year.”

The public is encouraged to come out and line the route with lawn chairs and enjoy the variety of vehicles.

After reaching Breitung Avenue in Kingsford, the cars will travel to Culver’s for ice cream and discuss last-minute details of the show set for Saturday, Sept. 8.

Vendor spaces remains available. Those interested should call 906-774-6713.
