KINGSFORD — A meet-and-greet for the local squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will be hosted by Burger King on Carpenter Avenue in Kingsford from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

“If you have any questions about Civil Air Patrol, such as who they are or what they do, this is a great opportunity to ask questions of cadet and senior members,” CAP member Ray Kaldor said.

This also is a fundraising opportunity for the squadron, as the management will donate a portion of purchases during this time.

“You can get your supper and information in an informal setting at the same time,” Kaldor said.

The local squadron of Civil Air Patrol has grown from one cadet in April a year ago to 21 cadets.

A new introduction for new members, which is only done a few times a year, has been set for 6 p.m. March 9 at the Kingsford National Guard Armory, 401 S. Carpenter Ave.

They look for cadets between age 12 and 18, and senior members 18 and older are welcome to become involved as well.
