Car show July 14

Elwood Anderson gets his car ready for the Covenant Classic Car and Bike Show tonight in the parking lot of First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. The community is invited from 5 to 8 p.m. to come check out the cars and enjoy a cookout, complete with hot fudge sundaes with custard, courtesy of Storheims, or strawberry shortcakes made with fresh berries from Pellegrini’s. “We want everyone to step back in time, and create a new memory of a Friday night that enjoys life’s simple pleasures and is family-oriented,” said Jeff Crosson, an event coordinator. The event is free of charge. Bring your classic car or bike for display — everyone is welcome, he said. For more information or if you would like to reserve a free spot for car or bike, call Crosson at 906-282-3582, or just come to the church by 4:30 p.m. to get a spot.
