IRON MOUNTAIN – The VA Vet Center in Escanaba will host a summer barbecue and open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Eastern time Friday at the Center, 3500 Ludington St. in Escanaba.

The barbecue and open house is open to veterans, their families and the general public.

There also will be music and a craft tent displaying the handiwork of veterans and their families.

The Escanaba Vet Center offers free readjustment counseling services for combat veterans of all eras and their family members, along with any service members who experienced military sexual trauma.

The Escanaba Vet Center also provides bereavement services and offers referral to the VA and other local agencies to any veteran in need of services.
