THE NORTHWOODS GARDEN Club’s annual strawberry social will be 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Gazebo Garden on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Balsam Street in Kingsford.

KINGSFORD — Plans are underway for the annual Northwoods Garden Club’s ice cream strawberry social from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Gazebo Garden, on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Balsam Street in Kingsford. The event has been a club tradition since 1995.

The public is invited to attend a fun-filled afternoon complete with strawberry sundaes for a minimal charge of $3. There will also be complimentary refreshment.

As always, there will be an array of entertainment including vocal and instrumental selections to enjoy.

The club’s ongoing commitment for community beautification is apparent at their many sites. Decorative floral creations can be viewed at any of the following locations:

— Chapin berm; corner of Stephenson Avenue and Kent Street;

— Gazebo garden; corner of Woodward Avenue and Balsam Street;

— Iron Mountain courthouse; Stephenson Avenue;

— Kimberly corner; corner of Woodward Avenue and Kimberly Street;

— Kingsford City Hall; south Carpenter Avenue;

— Carpenter green space; north Carpenter Avenue;

— Pine Mountain planter; Veteran’s Memorial Site top of Pine Mountain.

The Northwoods Garden Club largely relies on this fundraising event to sustain the ongoing expenses incurred by the preparation, planting and continuing enhancements that are undertaken each season.
