MARQUETTE — Superior Arts Youth Theater will offer acting and dance camps this summer. Camps are open to youth interested in performing who would like to expand their abilities and meet new friends. Acting camps are open to preschool age to 12 years old. Dance camps are open to ages 6 to 18 and will focus on building skills in preparation for SAYT’s 2019 spring production of Newsies.

The week-long dance camps, focusing on jazz and tap, will be taught by Jill Grundstrom at the Northern Michigan University Dance Studio in McClintock room 125. Youth will learn dance combinations, proper technique, and terminology. A free final performance open to the public will be presented by each session at the NMU’s Panowski Black Box Theatre in McClintock room 105 on the Friday of each camp. All are Eastern times.

Each acting camp session will work with a different script. Campers are encouraged to register for multiple sessions.
