CRYSTAL FALLS — Area senior citizens are invited to a special senior day at Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp Monday, Sept. 10. The event will begin with fellowship time at 10 a.m. in the camp dining hall.

The morning session will welcome the Rev. Vicky Prewitt, still remembered as Vicky Crystal, former morning news broadcaster on TV6. Prewitt has moved to Crystal Falls, where she now is pastor of Christ United Methodist Church.

At 1 p.m., Elizabeth Benyi of Voters Not Politicians will explain the non-partisan issue of gerrymandering, which will be addressed as Proposal 2 on the November ballot.

“Proposal 2 aims to end gerrymandering in Michigan by forming an independent citizens’ redistricting commission,” Benyi said.

Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp is on U.S. 2 about 3 miles west of Crystal Falls.
