HERMANSVILLE — Robert and Lois (Murray) Whitens of Hermansville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on July 19, 1958, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Spalding.

The couple made their home in Hermansville, where they raised their five children, Debbie (Kim) Recla of Iron Mountain; Natalie (Pete) Folcik of Powers; Cindy (Joe) Kinsella of Stevens Point, Wis.; Robert (Peggy) Whitens of Quinnesec; and Melissa (Tim) Mattson of Wrightstown, Wis.

They also have nine grandchildren, Aaron, Katie, Joe, Dan, Johnathan, Jennifer, Samantha, Drew and Maggie; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex, Jackie, Santi, Sophia, Ruth, Joey and Grace.

Robert worked as a pipe fitter and teacher/coach at North Central High School prior to his retirement.
