IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the J. Patrick White Conference Room in the West Iron District Library.

Pat Turner will present the program, “A Little Part in Preserving the Past.”

Cemeteries are the final resting place for many, where loved ones will return to pay their respects. But as time passes, the headstone marking that site may become worn, discolored, covered with lichen, or even broken. Join the genealogy group in learning some do’s and don’ts of cleaning gravestone monuments.

Visitors are welcome. These monthly meetings at the West Iron District Library in Iron River are open to all.
