HYDE — The U.P. Honor Flight four-person scramble golf tournament fundraiser is planned for Saturday, June 8, at Highland Golf Course in Hyde.

The Highland Honor Flight FUNdraiser will feature 18 holes of golf, donuts and coffee for breakfast, lunch and a dinner buffet.

Prizes will be awarded for each flight. There also will be skins, a silent auction, bucket drawings and more.

The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Women’s, men’s, senior and combined teams all are welcome. The ladies and seniors tee boxes will be moved up to “level the playing field.”

Entries are limited to the first 36 foursomes — so gather up the golfing buddies and get a team together soon to guarantee a slot.

Registration forms are available at the clubhouse onU.S.2inHydeorcanbe found on the Highland at www.highlandgolfclub.net and download the entry form from the “Event” tab.

Registration forms and payments are due by May 31. The entry fee is $240 per team.

Golf cart rentals will be available for $30.

Those who are not golfers but still interested in supporting the U.P. Honor Flight, or perhaps a business owner interested in providing a drawing prize or item for the silent auction, the Highland welcomes all donations.

The tournament promises to be a day of fun and relaxation while giving to a great cause.

The mission of the U.P. Honor Flight is to fly Upper Peninsula World War II, Korean and Vietnam veterans to Washington D.C. to visit and reflect at the memorials that stand in their honor.

This “Tour of Honor” is provided at no cost to the veterans.

Funds generated from the scramble will go toward the next Honor Flight on Sept. 18.
