The Iron Mountain Chapter of Friends of Education awarded its 2019 scholarship to Kiara Hood of Iron Mountain and Jessie Yu of Kingsford. Each girl received $500. Hood will attend Bay College in Iron Mountain, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in art and design. Yu will attend Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich., pursuing a degree in pre-medicine and biology.
