Art for All winners announced

IRON MOUNTAIN — The 52nd annual Art for All show was a success June 29 at City Park in Iron Mountain.

Artists receiving awards in their medium category were —

— Best of Show: Kristine Danielson, jewelry;

— Most Promising New Artist: Bob Cary, wire and string art;

— People’s Choice Award: tied between Ken Herman, glass, and Dan Recla, metal sculpture;

— First place jewelry: Suzanne Tinti;

— First place glass: Ken Herman;

–First place fiber: Ursula McCarthy;

— First place wood: Larry Springer;

— First place sculpture: Wendy Hunt;

— First place traditional painting: Francis Caviani;

— First place alternative process painting: Monica Miller-Mortel;

— First place photography: Tim Lintz.

The beautiful weather got patrons out early and made for the perfect setting in the park, said Lana Frantz, co-coordinator of the event.

The group thanks Tadych’s Econofoods and the servers from Bishop Baraga Knights of Columbus for providing the lunch.

“A special thanks to 41 Lumber for sponsoring and running the Kids Art Experience for the fourth year in a row. The children who participated enjoyed a fun activity of rock painting this year.”

They also acknowledge Scott Thomas, director of Public Works, and his crew for help to prepare the park for the artists.

“And another special thank you again to all of our artists, entertainers, sponsors, co-chairs and volunteers, especially to all of the local businesses and individuals whose donations make this show possible,” she said.
