IRON MOUNTAIN — The Trillium Area Girl Scouts recently completed a bicycle safety class with Michigan State Police.

Troopers were kind enough to come out on a Saturday morning to teach bike safety rules, including setting up an obstacle course for the participating scouts.

Girls also were able to make a first aid kit for their bikes, thanks to the generosity of Ray’s Feed Mill, Norway Mercantile, Era Chevrolet, Walmart and Fleury Singler & Co. PC.

More than 40 girls took advantage of the class, a fun kickoff to Girl Scouts summer activities.

Camps are planned all summer throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. Girls from all area schools are invited to join local troops. They need adults to help lead troops as well; online materials are provided with membership.
