NORWAY — The community is invited to the fourth annual Yoopers Fighting Alzheimer’s Picnic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Marion Park in Norway.

Brats, beans, chips and soft drink will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass.

The purpose of the picnic is to draw awareness to the insidious disease Alzheimer’s and to fundraise for Alzheimer’s disease research.

“No one who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s has ever been cured,” said Wayne Backlund. “Hopefully events such as the Yoopers Fighting Alzheimer’s Picnic will bring about the funding needed to find a cure.”

A mixed doubled round-robin pickleball tournament, “Yoopers Pickling Alzheimer’s,” will precede the picnic. The first pickleball will be served at 2:30 p.m.
